Norma Brenne Henning is an experienced expert in immigration law, business consulting and international investment. She assists companies, investors, families and entrepreneurs with travel planning, obtaining residence and work permits, and settling in the United States. She represents her clients in proceedings before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), in visa applications at U.S. consulates worldwide, and in matters before Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
As a civil law notary in Florida, she has in-depth knowledge of the legal framework in codified jurisdictions and assists foreign investors, families and individuals with complex real estate transactions in the United States.
In the area of family immigration, she develops customized solutions to enable non-U.S. family members to reside or settle permanently in the U.S. - always in compliance with applicable immigration laws. In the area of business immigration, she advises companies and investors on the optimal visa and residency strategies, particularly for investor visas (E-Visa, EB-5 Green Card), intra-company transfers (L-Visa, EB-1 Green Card) and visas for highly skilled professionals and individuals with exceptional abilities (O-Visa, EB-1 Green Card). In addition, she assists her clients with naturalization and citizenship applications.
Ms. Henning studied law (Juris Doctor) at the University of Florida College of Law and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism at Troy University in Alabama. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1996, admitted as a Civil Law Notary in Florida in 2002 and admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 2022. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Florida and Minnesota Bar Associations and the Collier County Bar Association in Florida.
In 2003, the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany appointed her Honorary Consul for West Florida, a position she held for 18 years. In this capacity, she assisted the German Consulate General in Miami with diplomatic and administrative matters.
In addition to her work in immigration law, Ms. Henning is involved in German-American business development. She is a board member and vice president of the Minnesota Chapter of the German-American Chamber of Commerce Midwest (GACC-Midwest) and a member of the Leadership Committee of the German-American Chamber of Commerce South (GACC-South) and the French-American Chamber of Commerce in Minnesota.
