Matthias Barhainski works as a partner in our Automotive & E-Mobility, Construction / Technical Building Services (TGA) / Facility Management (FM) and Mechanical Engineering competence centers.
He is also our specialist for suitability diagnostics and onboarding. He has also been involved in management audits and organizational development projects.

After studying business administration at the University of Passau, Matthias Barhainski joined a small cross-industry and cross-position HR consultancy in Munich. There, he learned the trade of a personnel consultant from the ground up.
He began by recruiting suitable candidates as a researcher/recruiter and later built up research teams and managed them as Head of Research. This enabled him to acquire a broad knowledge of many industries and positions and he always knows where to find the right people for a vacancy.
At the same time, he began to build up a client network and acquire his own mandates, which shifted his focus even more towards the needs of his clients.

He gained this experience at a Germany-wide personnel consulting group with a focus on technical professions (engineering positions) and has been with SENATOR from the very beginning.

With his wealth of experience in filling technical and commercial positions, Mr. Matthias Barhainski provides his clients with targeted support in their personnel selection and recruitment. Mr. Hahne has many years of international experience in the industry and media sector and will be particularly active in the competence centers media (TV, print & digital), construction/technical building equipment (TGA)/facility management (FM) as well as in the semiconductor industry.

With his comprehensive expertise, Mr. Claus Hahne supports companies in all aspects of personnel consulting. His wealth of entrepreneurial experience and broad functional background make him a valued partner in the precise filling of expert and management positions, particularly in the areas of Procurement & Supply Chain Management and at management level.

After studying business administration with a focus on human resources management and information technology, Mr. Hahne began his career in a medium-sized company in the steel industry. There he gained valuable experience in sales and purchasing. In the further course of his career, he took on various positions and management tasks in purchasing and supply chain management at Siemens AG. At Siemens, Mr. Hahne was instrumental in the development and implementation of strategies to optimize procurement processes and was able to achieve significant cost savings through his innovative approaches. He also successfully carried out various projects to increase efficiency in the supply chain, which led to a sustainable improvement in operational processes. His ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions contributed significantly to increasing the company's efficiency and productivity. In addition, he was responsible for implementing global purchasing strategies that helped to strengthen Siemens' competitiveness in international markets.

Before joining Senator Executive Search Partners, Mr. Hahne worked for ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE. In his role, he was responsible for the Corporate Real Estate division and the company's global procurement function. Under his leadership, numerous projects were implemented to optimize processes and increase efficiency in the areas of procurement and facility management. His expertise made it possible to realign the company's purchasing strategies and thereby achieve significant competitive advantages. Mr. Hahne also established sustainable practices and guidelines that contributed to the long-term stability and profitability of the company. His leadership not only improved internal processes, but also strengthened relationships with suppliers and service providers, leading to an overall improvement in the company's performance.

Claus Hahne has been living in Toronto, Canada, since February 2024, where he uses his international experience to support companies in their search for qualified specialists and executives from Germany and Europe. As a partner, he is also driving the strategic expansion of Senator Executive Search Partners in North America. With his comprehensive know-how, his intercultural competence and a resilient network on both sides of the Atlantic, he is responsible for establishing and developing the location in Canada. Senator Executive Search Partners is very pleased that Dr. Carsten Menzel, with his extensive experience in the automotive, mechanical engineering and medical technology sectors, has joined the partner network as a consultant.

With his outstanding expertise in the metal industry, Dr. Menzel supports companies in the fields of stamping and forming technology, CNC machining, welding assemblies and surface treatment in all aspects of HR consulting. Disposal, recycling management, in particular innovative technologies for a hydrogen-based energy supply with the use of waste as raw materials, are his main focus.

It supports companies in filling managerial positions in the areas of sales, development and quality as well as at management level. The prerequisite for this is the development of a well-founded job profile, which also takes into account the influences of the respective corporate culture.

He is also dedicated to the growing market for ecological building construction, residential extensions, infrastructure and road construction in wood. With his in-depth knowledge, Dr. Menzel is probably Germany's only expert for executive search in this sustainable sector.

As Managing Director, he used his market and sales knowledge to develop successful corporate and sales strategies and implement them with the right employees in the right positions. His focus was often on building and developing successful sales teams for whom customer orientation is paramount. In addition to his appreciative leadership of employees and their appropriate deployment in the company, his focus was on the implementation and optimization of processes and their KPI-supported control to achieve the company's goals.

Dr. Menzel laid the foundations for his professional career with his studies in physics in Freiburg and subsequent doctorate in Essen with a degree in Münster with a minor in medical physics. Dr. Menzel then moved into sales in the automotive industry. With positions at well-known tier-one suppliers as key account manager, project manager, development manager and sales manager, he developed into a manager with responsibility for personnel and budgets. Before joining Senator Executive Search, he was Managing Director for companies with up to 500 employees.
