Matthias Barhainski is a partner in our Automotive & E-Mobility, Construction / Technical Building Equipment (TBE) / Facility Management (FM), and Mechanical Engineering competence centers.
He is also our specialist for aptitude diagnostics and onboarding. He has also been involved in management audits and organizational development projects.

After studying business administration at the University of Passau, Matthias Barhainski started his career at a small personnel consulting firm in Munich that worked across various industries and positions. There, he learned the craft of personnel consulting from the ground up.
He began by recruiting suitable candidates as a researcher/recruiter and later built up research teams and led them as Head of Research. This allowed him to gain broad knowledge in many industries and positions, and he always knows where to find the right people for a vacancy.
At the same time, he began to build up a client network and acquire his own mandates, which shifted his focus even more towards the needs of his clients.

He gained this experience at a Germany-wide personnel consulting group focusing on technical professions (engineering positions) and has been with SENATOR since the very beginning.

With his wealth of experience in filling both technical and commercial positions, Matthias Barhainski provides his clients with targeted support in their personnel selection and recruitment. He guides candidates competently, empathetically, and confidentially on their way to new challenges and careers.

Dr. Peter Buhl is an expert in executive development. He supports entrepreneurs, executives, and management teams in change processes that are critical to success. He advises internal human resources departments on the design of qualification processes, develops and leads leadership programs, and supports executives, management teams, and conflicting parties through individual coaching.

Dr. Buhl brings entrepreneurial experience as CFO of a start-up company and over 14 years of management experience—including at C-level—to his work. As a systemic coach and systemic organizational consultant, he can provide his clients with sound consulting expertise. As an economist with broad management and industry experience on the one hand and as a psychotherapist (HPG) on the other, he is able to navigate confidently between results-oriented and personality-centered leadership and show his clients individual success strategies appropriate to the situation.

At SENATOR, Dr. Buhl oversees the areas of onboarding and coaching. The risks are particularly high during onboarding, when new managers are integrated into a company: both sides usually enter the process with very high expectations. The fall is correspondingly great when reality fails to live up to expectations. A proven diagnostic tool makes it possible to identify risk factors and eliminate them through targeted coaching. Often, coaching can even help develop additional success factors that were not the main focus during the hiring process.
